Search Syntax

The search uses Lucene scoring (a combination of VSM and Boolean) to retrieve those faculty whose scholarly work is most relevant to the search term. In this case, key words are mined from the titles and abstracts of articles, conference proceedings, and books.

By default, the search uses an OR operator, but clicking the OR operator will toggle it to an AND operator. For example, the entry "circadian" OR "rhythm" will return persons for both the keyword "circadian" and the keyword "rhythm". Pressing TAB after the phrase "circadian rhythm" is typed out will return only persons that have the exact phrase present in their profile.
